This time it was about finding players who would help realize his songs the way he wanted them. The idea was not to start a new power trio with a new name as before. With new found energy he completed the writing of many new songs and decided to enlist the help of some friends to help realize his new musical vision. 'After the demise of his last group: The Hidden Hand, Wino did not rest. BUT the second one is a acoustic record, it's pure blues with amazing wisdom in Wino's voice, i guess it comes with age. The first one is a trippy stoner record again with thick sound more like The obsessed. The two records of Wino(band) are completely different. However, they will reunite again in April 2012 at the Roadburn Festival.
After releasing three albums (including the one that was originally recorded in 1985), The Obsessed broke up for a second time in 1995. Formed in 1976, they first split up in 1986 when Wino joined Saint Vitus, but reformed four years later. The Obsessed is a doom metal band from Maryland led by Scott "Wino" Weinrich, who also fronted Saint Vitus, Spirit Caravan, Place of Skulls, The Hidden Hand and W.I.N.O.
Their music clings fast because of Wino's trippy riffs!! The Obsessed is not that slow as Saint Vitus but sure is dark enough to call it doom metal. The Obsessed is very thick sounding doom metal band.
